The My Son Ruins are a group of abandoned Hindu temples which date from 4th to 13th centuries. The Marble Mountains are a group of 5 marble and limestone hills which represent the 5 elements: metal, wood, water, fire and earth. The Marble Mountains are a 30 minute drive from Hoi An, and are easily accessible.
Son Tra, or Monkey Mountain, is a stunning national park which provides visitors with a break from surrounding hectic towns and city centres. Son Tra is visited by locals and tourists alike and offers stunning views, heart-pumping hikes and a large pagoda. There are two visible domes which were occupied by the American military during the war, they are still there today but no longer occupied by the Americans. Son Tra is a 70 minute drive north of Hoi An.
