The dates for the Lunar New Year changes annually but the occasion is the biggest event in Hoi Ans calendar. Celebrations continue for days and include fireworks, traditional singing and dancing, traditional food, street markets, boat races, games for children and traditional plays. The whole town comes alive with celebration and delight. It's a really magical time of year to visit.
This happens every month when there's a full moon. Candles are lit within paper lanterns which are then released into the sky or set to float on the river. The event creates a beautiful calming atmosphere.
The Full Moon Festival happens on the 14th day of every lunar month. The whole town celebrates with live music, traditional plays and street food. All vehicles are banned from the Old Town to make way for street markets which sell souvenirs, food and traditional ornaments.
